Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Class 1 shunter for our clients site in Leicester. Working on night shift.

This position will involve the safe and efficient movement of HGV vehicles and trailers around the depot and yard, ensuring trailers are correctly positioned to support the smooth running of daily transport operations.

The Role

  • Shunting and positioning HGV trailers within the depot and yard
  • Moving trailers between loading areas, bays and designated parking areas
  • Ensuring trailers are positioned safely and efficiently
  • Carrying out vehicle and trailer checks where required
  • Working closely with the wider transport and warehouse teams
  • Following all site health and safety procedures
  • Maintaining a safe and organised yard environment
  • Night Shift – 23:00 start
  • £19.50 per hour PAYE
  • Start date: 16 November
  • You will have:
  • Previous HGV driving and/or shunting experience
  • Confident manoeuvring HGV vehicles and trailers within a busy depot environment
  • Strong awareness of vehicle and site safety
  • Reliable and professional approach
  • Comfortable working night shifts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the wider depot team

Licences and Qualifications
